Wild Ball
Add the Wild Ball option to your Pick 2, Pick 3, Pick 4 or Cash 5 play for extra ways to win!
A one-digit Wild Ball number is randomly selected before each Day and Evening draw. The number applies to all Pick games for that draw.
The Wild Ball number can replace one of the other numbers drawn to give you a winning play. The numbers on your ticket stay the same; the Wild Ball helps create more winning combinations that your numbers can match. Win a prize by matching your numbers to one of the new winning selections created with Wild Ball.
Only the Wild Ball number that is drawn may be used to replace one of the lottery's numbers.
Adding Wild Ball doubles the cost of a play type - so if your base play was $1.00, it will cost $2.00 with Wild Ball. Wild Ball also has different payouts versus the base game without the add-on. Scroll down for full details.
Wild Ball doesn't change the prize claim deadline for Pick games. All Pick prizes must be claimed within a year of the draw date.
Wild Ball Example: How to Win
Let's look at an example using Pick 3 to explain how Wild Ball works.
You choose the numbers 253.
The lottery draws the numbers 153.
The Wild Ball drawn is 2.
If you didn't add Wild Ball, your numbers could only win by matching the lottery's numbers as a straight match. Since your numbers are 253 and the lottery's numbers are 153, there's no match and no prize.
Now let's see what happens when you add Wild Ball.

Can a Pick Ticket with Wild Ball Win on Both Prize Levels?
Yes, your ticket can win two prizes. For instance, let's say you purchase a $1.00 Straight Pick 3 ticket with Wild Ball and choose the numbers 253. The PA Lottery draws the numbers 253 and the Wild Ball is 2. You've won a Straight match prize of $500.
Since you also added Wild Ball, you can use that number 2 instead of any of the lottery's numbers. That creates extra winning combos for you to match your numbers with.
In this case, you could swap the 2 in the lottery's numbers with the Wild Ball 2 to create a Straight match with the numbers drawn. That nets you an additional $200 prize for using Wild Ball. That's a total of $700 in prizes for your play!
