Changes on the Way to New Jersey Cash 5
Thursday June 27th 2024A number of changes are set to be made to Jersey Cash 5 from Monday, July 1, giving ticket holders the opportunity to play for bigger prizes and improve their chances of winning.
The format of the game - picking five numbers from 1 to 45 - is staying the same, but a new feature called Bullseye is being introduced that will create more prize tiers and boost your odds.
What is Bullseye?
The fifth number in each draw will be known as the Bullseye. It will work as a special number as you will get a larger payout if you match it and at least one other number. You still get a prize if you match three or four numbers and the Bullseye isn’t among them.
It is a feature that will be automatically included in the cost of a play - which will now rise from $1 to $2. Xtra is still an optional add-on, giving you the chance to increase your winnings by up to five times, and this will also be applied to Bullseye prizes.
Bigger Starting Jackpot
The minimum jackpot in Jersey Cash 5 will increase from $100,000 to $150,000, setting a platform for bigger prizes than ever before. The jackpot will continue to grow from draw to draw until it is won.
With draws every day, there is the potential for it to climb quickly towards $1 million and possibly beyond. Back in February, a new record was set for Jersey Cash 5 when two players split $2.4 million.
Instant Match will no longer be available alongside Jersey Cash 5.
The New Jersey Lottery had previously made a couple of changes to Cash 5 in June 2020, with the number matrix going from 5/43 to 5/45 and the starting jackpot bumped up from $75,000.
It has already been a successful year for the Garden State, with a Mega Millions player winning $1.13 billion in March, and the changes to Cash 5 are expected to drive up ticket sales even more.
