Lotto
After years of thwarted attempts, the Mississippi state lottery finally launched on November 25th 2019. The lottery initially only offered scratch-off games, but draw games followed in early 2020, starting with the multi-state games Powerball and Mega Millions.
That five-digit game is also expected to launch in the first quarter of 2020. Game details have not been released yet; this page will be updated as soon as more information is available. For now, you'll find general information on a Lotto game of the type offered by neighboring Louisiana and other states.
The Lotto draw game from the Mississippi Lottery may feature a $250,000 starting jackpot that increases until someone wins it.
When Lotto launches, tickets are likely to cost just $1 per line. Choose six numbers from 1 to 40 or let Quick Pick randomly generate the numbers for you. You'll be able to play up to five sets of numbers per playslip.
Draws are expected to be held two nights a week. Louisiana's draws are on Wednesday and Saturday nights at 9:59pm Central Time (except Christmas Day). Be sure to purchase your ticket by 9:30 pm CT to enter that evening's draw. If you buy your ticket after this time, you'll be entered into the next drawing.
If you want to play your lucky numbers for multiple drawings, Multidraw is likely to be offered. Save time by playing 2, 3, 4, 5, 10 or 20 draws in a row. If you win a prize before all draws have been held, you'll be issued an Exchange ticket with the same numbers for the rest of the draws.
Match all six numbers drawn to win the jackpot.
