Two Ticket Holders Share $400 Million Mega Millions Jackpot

Wednesday March 19th 2014

Two lucky Mega Millions players won the $400 million jackpot yesterday after 20 consecutive draws without a top tier winner. The coveted jackpot eluded players for ten weeks but was finally won in last night’s draw after one player from Maryland and another Florida matched all six numbers drawn.

The draw also yielded a particularly successful second tier, with eight ticket holders from California (1), Florida (2), Illinois (1), Maryland (1), New York (2) and Texas (1) matching all five main numbers to win $1 million each. However, as prizes in California are paid out on pari-mutuel basis, the lucky winner from the Golden State took home a prize worth just over $1.9 million. California lottery officials have been quick to release information regarding the winning Match 5 ticket and have confirmed it was purchased from the Huntington Liquor store on Huntington Avenue, San Bruno.

In the following tier, 207 players matched four main numbers and the Mega Ball to win $5,000 each and an additional 2,535 ticket holders matched just four main balls to win $500 each. They were joined by 8,155,374 other players who managed to win a prize worth between $1 for matching the Mega Ball and $50 for matching three main balls plus the Mega Ball.

With two jackpot winners and eight Match 5 winners, we strongly advise all players to check their tickets from last night’s draw to see if they are one of the lucky winners. The winning numbers from last night’s Mega Millions draw were 11, 19, 24, 33 and 51 with 7 as the Mega Ball.
