Tonight’s Powerball Jackpot Worth $150 Million
Wednesday April 23rd 2014The Powerball jackpot on offer in tonight’s draw is worth an impressive $150 million after players in Saturday’s draw failed to secure the top prize. Unusually, in addition to there being no jackpot winners in Saturday’s draw, there were also no winners in the second prize tier. This is a fairly rare occurrence and has only been seen three times so far this year.
The winning numbers in Saturday’s Powerball drawing, in ascending order, were 5, 6, 29, 35, and 51 with the Powerball 21. The Power Play number drawn was 5 which means that any players who had opted to include the additional feature will have their winning multiplied by five.
The highest winning prize tier on the night was the Match 4 plus Powerball tier in which 25 players each won $10,000. However, two of these players opted to include the Power Play feature so their wins were increased to $50,000.
If the jackpot is won tonight, the lucky player will claim the second highest Powerball jackpot of the year. The largest jackpot so far in 2014 was worth a staggering $425 million and won by Californian retiree B. Raymond Buxton on 19th February. The lucky joker donned a comical shirt to collect his prize but declined to show his face.
As a result of tonight’s impressive jackpot, participation in tonight’s draw is likely to be high so we advise players purchase their tickets in plenty of time, either online via the Buy Tickets page or in person from an authorised retailer. Good luck!
