Texas Lottery Rolls Again

Wednesday September 28th 2011

The Texas Lottery has rolled again as its last draw on Saturday 24th September failed to secure a jackpot winner. The next draw will take place this evening and it has an estimated jackpot of $9 million. This is the fifth time in a row that the Texas Lottery has rolled over. The last player to win the jackpot was at the beginning of the month when six numbers were matched correctly to win the jackpot prize of $25 million.

The results from Saturday nights draw were 3, 11, 17, 19, 45 and 53. Although no players correctly matched all six balls, 20 players did match five numbers to win the prize of $1,853 and the lowest prize available of $3 was won by 23,771 players.

Having started in the early 1990s, the biggest ever win on the Texas Lotto was in 2004 when a player scooped the impressive jackpot of $145 million. This jackpot started to roll on the 28th February 2004 and rolled consecutively 32 times before a very lucky player became a multi-millionaire overnight on the 19th June 2004. The lucky ticket was bought in El Paso and that particular draw saw over half a million players win a prize in any of the six available tiers.

Compared to the Mega Millions and the Powerball, this lottery may have a smaller jackpot available to win but the odds of winning this jackpot are significantly lower at just 1 in 25,827,165. Remember you only have to match six numbers to win a life changing amount of money. Who knows luck might be on your side tonight, so check your Texas Lottery results here minutes after the draw takes place to see if you have a winning ticket.
