Texas Lottery player wins 4th jackpot
Tuesday July 6th 2010Winning the lottery is something that many of us only dream of as we all know that the games with even the best odds of winning still leave us with a very low chance. However, news that one lucky Texas Lottery player wins a 4th jackpot in 17 years will leave many of us wide eyed in amazement and maybe restore a little belief that people really can get lucky by playing the lottery and that it is a game that is well worth playing despite the unfavourable odds.
Joan Ginther who is 63 years old is believed to have topped $20 million in Texas Lottery winnings and her latest win, which is understood to be eight figures is her largest lottery win to date. This was a Texas Lottery scratch card game called Extreme Payout.
Ginthers first big win came 1993 when she won an amazing $11 million lottery jackpot which was shared with one other lucky lotto ticket holder. She then had a further lottery scratch card win of $2 million in 2006 and $3 million in 2008.
Although Joan Ginther is possibly considered the luckiest lottery player in the world it would be interesting to know just how much of her first lottery jackpot win which came in 1993 has been spent on scratchcards as every big win since then has been a scratch card win.
Either way it must be a big boost for Texas Lottery players to know that one lottery jackpot win can win can lead to something like this, but we would hope that Joan Ginther still retains a good proportion of her fabulous wins.
