Scratchcard Success
Tuesday January 27th 2009Scratchcard success was recently experienced by a syndicate of 25 lottery players who won a top prize of £75,000 playing a Scrabble 2008 game. All of the players work in Bradford at the head office of Morrisons, and this win has got their 2009 lottery efforts off to a great start.
When the scratchcard had been played, it was quickly passed around the workplace and syndicate members found it hard to believe that they had won the top prize. Then Julia Moorhouse, who leads the syndicate, made a phone call to the scratchcard operator and it was confirmed that the £75,000 was theirs.
“We play Lotto each week and any prizes won over the year are shared out in December,” Julia explained. “We had some prize money left over after we’d shared it out so we decided to buy some Scratchcards and picked the Scrabble version so that we could all scratch a square off – little did I know that we had bought a winning card!”
Coincidentally, the winning scratchcard had been purchased from a Morrisons store in Wakefield, so maybe it was fate that the prize should be won by a Morrisons lottery syndicate.
“The Scratchcard hadn’t got very far around the syndicate when we realised that we had won,” Julia said. “We are over the moon to have struck lucky! We’ve not won a life-changing amount, but it will make all our lives much easier. We’re all planning to celebrate together soon and then look forward to treating ourselves!”
This latest example of scratchcard success should inspire anyone who likes to play scratchcards online or offline. Whilst tens of thousands of pounds can’t compare with the millions that can be won in a regular lottery game, such amounts certainly come in handy and can be help winners to make some significant changes in their lives. Try playing a few scratchcards online today and see if you can enjoy some scratchcard success of your own!
