Monday May 13th 2013

The Powerball jackpot rolled over again on Saturday night which means the jackpot increased from US$270 million to an estimated US$350 million in time for the midweek draw taking place on Wednesday 15th May 2013. This is now officially the third largest jackpot in Powerball history and the seventh largest US jackpot ever seen. But what will happen if its rolls over again?

History would suggest that if Powerball rolls over again this Wednesday players could see a weekend jackpot topping the US$587 million prize which was won on 28th November 2012. However, now that the state of California has joined Powerball, this jackpot could end up being even bigger as the whole of the US gets caught up in Powerball mania!

Powerball isn’t the only lottery growing in size. Its rival MegaMillions has also continued to roll over and now has an estimated jackpot of US$170 million for the draw taking place on Tuesday 14th May 2013. MegaMillions still holds the world record for the biggest ever lottery jackpot – a massive US$656 million - which was won on 30th March 2012. However, with the current competition from Powerball, could MegaMillions soon lose it’s top position?

Whichever lottery you decide to play this week, make sure you buy your tickets in plenty of time before the draw and good luck from all of us at Lottery.net!
