Powerball Jackpot Surges To $310 Million

Tuesday February 14th 2017

The Powerball jackpot has rocketed to a fantastic €310 million for Wednesday night’s drawing, giving players across America the opportunity to pick up a life-changing prize. It is the biggest sum of money currently up for grabs on any lottery in the world, and the largest Powerball jackpot to have been offered since a group of 20 Tennessee co-workers won $420.9 million on November 26th last year.

A lucky couple from Pennsylvania also won $121.6 million in the December 17th drawing, with a ticket bought in Selbyville in Delaware, but the jackpot has kept growing ever since and nobody has yet managed to match all five main numbers plus the Powerball in 2017.

There have still been some great success stories over the past couple of months, and in the last drawing alone there were five players who matched five main numbers to become millionaires. Four of the ticket holders doubled their $1 million prize to $2 million after opting for the Power Play, and in total there were well over a million prize winners.

If anyone manages to land Wednesday night’s jackpot, they can either choose to take the full $310 million prize paid out in 30 annual instalments, or a one-off cash sum of $189.3 million. You can also check out a list of the different participating states to find out how long you would have to claim any prizes.

Tickets can be bought from any authorized retailer in participating states and jurisdictions, while you can also play online. A Powerball ticket could also be the perfect addition to any Valentine’s Day card you send this week and, who knows, you could just be matched up with a $310 million jackpot. Good luck!
