PowerBall boasts rollover jackpot

Wednesday June 29th 2011

There is no doubt that lottery players in the US will be out in force to buy lotto tickets for one of the biggest jackpots west of the Atlantic this week. The multi state game PowerBall boasts a rollover jackpot of $76 million this week, a figure that many of us only dream of winning. However, the fact is that at some point this monster jackpot will be won and the chances are that the figure could continue to rise even higher.

The PowerBall has not seen a jackpot winner since Wednesday 8th June, when a lucky player from Massachusetts walked away with a $25 million jackpot. This is obviously relatively small compared with today’s figure, simply because the previous jackpot winner for the PowerBall was on 1st June when a $200 million jackpot went to a player in New York. This meant that the PowerBall jackpot had not had sufficient rollovers to reach anything like the high that you will be playing for today. However, it does give you some idea of the how the jackpot can fluctuate at times.

With the next draw for the PowerBall taking place this evening, many will be flooding to buy lottery tickets in their bid to win this fantastic prize. Those who are unlucky in this draw may well have another chance if the PowerBall rolls again. Failing that, the MegaMillions could also off another chance of a big prize. A MegaMillions lottery draw took place yesterday and many will be keeping an eye out for the result to see whether the massive $88 million rollover jackpot has been won or whether they will be buying lotto tickets for an even bigger one for the weekend.
