North Carolina Powerball Winner
Monday June 22nd 2009A North Carolina Lottery player won a Powerball jackpot of $88,100,000 on Saturday 20 June, 2009. He or she beat odds of 1 in 195,249,054 and matched the five main numbers (03, 11, 18, 22 and 28) as well as the Powerball (33) to become the latest lucky multi-millionaire. The winner will now need to decide whether to take the Powerball prize as a cash lump sum or a series of annual instalments.
This latest win comes just a few weeks after a 23 year old rancher from South Dakota won a Powerball jackpot of $232 million. Neal Wanless opted for the cash lump sum option and took home $88.5 million after taxes.
The Powerball jackpot has now been reset and players have a $20 million jackpot to aim for this Wednesday 24 June, 2009. Players who don’t live in a participating state can buy lottery tickets online and stand exactly the same chance of winning as anyone else.
