Minnesota Gets First Mega Millions Jackpot Win
Wednesday April 13th 2022Someone in Minnesota is waking up this morning as a new multimillionaire after a single ticket hit the state's first-ever Mega Millions jackpot on Tuesday night.
The $110 million jackpot ($66.9 million cash option) was originally estimated at $106 million but rose on strong ticket sales.
The lucky ticket was sold at Holiday Stationstores on Xkimo Street in Ramsey and matched all six numbers in the Tuesday, April 12 draw: white balls 2, 8, 14, 20 and 31, and the gold Mega Ball, 17.
The prize marks a milestone for Minnesota - it's the state's first Mega Millions jackpot win since joining the game in 2010.
The jackpot went through a 10-draw rollover since it was previously won just last month, when a ticket sold in New York hit a $128 million prize on March 8. Prior to that, there's been one other top prize winner this year, when a California ticket scored $426 million on January 28.

There were a range of other great prizes won last night by players across the country, so make sure you check your tickets to see if you're one of the lucky winners.
Four tickets scored the $1 million Match 5 second prize by matching the five white balls. The winning tickets were sold in Florida, Maryland, and two in New Jersey.
One of the New Jersey tickets included the Megaplier add-on - a $1 extra that multiplies a non-jackpot prize. The Megaplier number drawn on Tuesday was 2X, meaning that ticket has doubled in value to $2 million.
Fourteen lucky winners matched four of the white balls as well as the Mega Ball to win the $10,000 Match 4 third-tier prize. Six of those included the Megaplier and are actually worth $20,000.
In addition to the jackpot, there were 408,487 other prizes won on Tuesday across all prize levels. Since the top prize was last taken home on March 8, there have been over 3.6 million winning tickets.
There have been 10 Match 5 wins of $1 million or above. Michigan and New Jersey had two Match 5 winners apiece, while Arizona, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, and Washington State had one winner each.
