Mega Millions Ticket Sold in Michigan Wins US$79 Million
Wednesday July 10th 2013Luck was in the air for a Mega Millions player on Friday July 5th when they matched the five main numbers and the Mega Ball to win the US$79 million jackpot.
The winning numbers from Friday’s draw were 2, 23, 41, 47 and 54 with the Mega Ball number 42. The winning jackpot ticket was purchased from the family-owned store John’s Market on East Square Lake Road in Troy, Michigan. The owner, Bill Shuwayhat, will receive US$50,000 (estimated at US$33,000 after taxes) for selling the winning ticket and plans to pay off bills with his windfall.
On July 9th Michigan Lottery officials said they are still waiting for the winner to come forward but WDIV reported that the jackpot winner is believed to be a Sterling Heights resident with the first name of David, but this has yet to be confirmed.
