The Powerball jackpot has climbed to a colossal $356 million ahead of Saturday’s drawing, while the top prize for Friday’s Mega Millions is even higher $382 million. It has never happened before that the jackpots in both games have risen above $300 million at the same time, and it may not be long before both games pass the $400 million barrier.

Mega Millions has taken longer to reach its current size, having not been won since David Trapp landed $61 million on April 28th with a ticket bought in Laguna Hills, California. It has started to grow very quickly more recently, and now stands at its highest value since a family from Hamilton County in Indiana won $536 million on July 8th 2016. The $382 million jackpot equates to a cash option of $238 million.

The Powerball jackpot was given away as recently as Saturday June 10th, when Jeff Lindsay from California picked up $447.8 million to become the seventh largest jackpot winner in the game’s history. It has been steadily building for the last couple couple of months and is now not far away from catching up with the top prize in Mega Millions.

You can find out more about Powerball and Mega Millions ahead of what should be a thrilling weekend, and then give yourself a chance of winning by either visiting an authorized retailer in one of the participating states or choosing your numbers online. Good luck!
