Lucky £110,000 winner risks missing out on prize

Wednesday March 23rd 2011

A lucky lottery winner from east Cheshire is leaving it late to claim a prize of nearly £110,000 – they have just over a week left before the money goes into the good causes pot. The ticket-holder matched five numbers and the bonus ball in the national lottery draw on Saturday October 2, 2010. The latest time they can come forward to claim their prize is 5.30pm next Thursday, March 31.

If the ticket-holder is not traced by then, the £109,663 prize, along with the interest it has accrued, will go to the Good Causes fund, which has topped £25billion, and has been distributed right around the UK since the lottery started in November 1994.

The numbers drawn on that day last October were 10, 16, 25, 26, 32 and 40, with 46 being the bonus ball.

An appeal has been made in the local newspaper closest to where the winner chose to buy lottery tickets, the Crewe Chronicle, in an effort to get them to come forward.

A spokesman for the lottery organisers said: “Time is running out for the winner of this prize, but we still hope that someone will come forward at the last minute to claim the money.”
