Lotto America To Expand Further With Nebraska Launch
Tuesday April 23rd 2024Nebraska will become the 15th state to offer Lotto America when tickets for the game go on sale on Sunday, May 19.
It was announced earlier this month that Mississippi will join the multi-state lottery from May 12, but it will only be the newest member for a week before Nebraska launches the game.
Speaking about the addition, Nebraska Lottery Director Brian Rockey said it was something that lottery fans in the state had been seeking for some time.
“We are excited to add Lotto America to our product lineup," Rockey said in a press release. “Many players have asked us to offer Lotto America in the past, and the game fits in well with our existing draw games. As with all Nebraska Lottery games a portion of every ticket sold goes to support good causes across Nebraska.”
The Nebraska Lottery has raised over $978 million for its beneficiaries since launching in 1993, helping to support the state’s education system and environmental trust among others.
There are a number of Nebraska-only games to enjoy, such as Pick 3, Pick 5 and MyDaY, as well as multi-state lotteries, and now Lotto America will provide another opportunity to win great prizes.
The first drawing available to Nebraska players will be the one that takes place on Monday, May 20.
How Lotto America Works
Lotto America draws take place every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday night. It costs just $1 per play - that’s half the cost of Powerball or Mega Millions.
To play, you have to select five numbers from 1 to 52, plus a Star Ball number between 1 and 10. There are lots of ways to win prizes, but you must match all the numbers to get the jackpot.
The jackpot starts at $2 million and keeps growing until it is won, so it can climb far higher. If you add the All Star Bonus option to your ticket for an extra $1, any non-jackpot prizes you win will be multiplied by up to five times.
Head over to the Lotto America page for more information about the game, and make sure to check the winning numbers after every draw.
