Lottery fever spreads ahead of EuroMillions draw
Thursday December 23rd 2010It seems that lottery fever has spread right across the country in advance of what promises to be a record-breaking Christmas Eve EuroMillions draw. According to the Express and Star newspaper, even Dudley’s town crier has braved the cold in order to remind people to go online and buy lotto tickets ahead of tomorrow evening’s game.
The EuroMillions jackpot stands at an estimated £14million, and in order to add a little extra festive spice to proceedings, UK organisers are running a separate Millionaire Raffle mega prize draw. Usually, the Millionaire Raffle creates one new UK millionaire each week, but for the Christmas Eve draw, 25 £1million prizes are up for grabs.
The game, which is due to be screened on BBC1 at 11.15pm tomorrow night, will break the record for the most lottery millionaires ever created in one go. The current record was set on New Year’s Eve in 1999 when a total of 18 new millionaires were created by the Big Draw 2000.
It is simple to buy lottery tickets for the EuroMillions draw online, so make sure you don’t miss out.
