"2 by 2 is a new game to Idaho that is played in several States across America’s heartland. This new game will have a true, Idaho feel to it," said Jeff Anderson, Idaho Lottery Director. "We're looking forward to it being successful, not only for our players, but also for our beneficiaries - Idaho's public schools and buildings."

2 by 2 is also played in Kansas, Nebraska, and North Dakota, with Wyoming the latest state to join prior to Idaho, beginning ticket sales on March 14, 2021.

It only costs $1 to play 2 by 2, and the game has eight ways to win in total, with cash prizes and free tickets up for grabs. The overall chances of snagging a prize are a promising 1 in 3.59.

Players will enjoy the chance to double their win on an eligible ticket every week on 2 by 2 Tuesdays, with the top prize doubling to $44,000!

To participate in 2 by 2 Tuesdays for the chance at bigger prizes, simply purchase a multi-draw ticket good for seven days or a multiple of seven.

It's simple to start playing 2 by 2 - just choose two red ball numbers from 1 to 26, and two white ball numbers from 1 to 26.

The draw is held every night at 8:15 PM MT, and ticket sales close at 7:55 PM. Match all four numbers drawn to win the grand prize!

Weekly Grand is Now Daily

2 by 2 isn't the only change at the Idaho Lottery. The Weekly Grand game has moved to a new daily schedule, with draws held seven nights a week at 8:00 PM MT. Get your tickets by 7:55 PM to play that evening's game.

Other than more chances to win, Weekly Grand is still the same player favorite that's available exclusively in Idaho. It costs $2 to play for a $1,000 per week top prize paid for 52 weeks, and the Lottery takes care of all withholding taxes for you.

There's also an extra chance to score a prize every month by entering non-winning tickets into the Weekly Grand second chance drawing. You could win $100 every week for 52 weeks with no withholding taxes.

Weekly Grand launched in 2011 and has been very successful, with 41 jackpot winners and 117 second-chance winners so far. Could you be next?

Idaho to Leave Powerball on August 23

The game changes in Idaho come following a vote by state legislators that the Gem State will no longer participate in Powerball from August 23.

The Multi-State Lottery Assocation, which manages Powerball, plans to expand the game into several international locations, including Australia and the UK, with tickets going on sale as soon as this year.

Idaho laws do not allow lottery games that are played in countries other than the USA and Canada. ID Lottery officials have lobbied for a change to the law, pointing out the value of the estimated $28 million in Powerball ticket sales in the state every year, of which about $14 million per year goes to local schools.

However, it appears the law will remain in place, which means that Idaho will stop selling Powerball tickets on August 23.
