Monday June 28th 2010

When any lottery contract is up for grabs a huge amount of interest is always generated and the high interest in the Texas Lottery contract is not at all surprising. This contract is currently held by GTech Corp and the fact that is rarely up for bid will mean that the competition to win this elusive contract is likely to see the interest parties in a huge bidding war. The Texas Lottery contract is expected to net the winning bidder $100 million per year, so it is not difficult to see why interest will be so big.

GTech are expected to bid again for the Texas Lottery contract along with Scientific Games Corp and Intralot Inc. Once bids for the Texas Lottery are in, a panel will evaluate all of the bids and decision as to which company will run the Texas Lottery is expected to be made by September. The deadline for bids is Tuesday so it won’t be long before players of the Texas Lottery will find out who the actual interested parties are.

There will be a lot of things to consider when deciding who will win the Texas Lottery contract. Every single person who buys Lotto tickets for any of the states games, plays a part in the revenue that is generated for the state and maintaining this revenue will be something to consider when deciding which company is best equipped to run the Texas Lottery. Once the winning bidder is selected by the panel, the details of the new contract will be made public.
