Football supporters gear up for EuroMillions draw
Friday December 24th 2010Supporters of Portsmouth Football Club have come out to wish EuroMillions lottery players the best of luck ahead of tonight’s game. Fans pulled a giant turkey wishbone as part of an event organised by UK National Lottery chiefs in order to publicise tonight’s extra special Christmas Eve EuroMillions lottery draw.
As usual, the UK Millionaire Raffle will take place alongside the main EuroMillions draw, but tonight 25 millionaires will be created rather than the usual one. It will set a new record for the number of millionaires created in one go, and will ensure that plenty of people who opted to buy lottery tickets have a Christmas to remember forever.
Tony Goodall, chairman of Pompey Independent Supporters Association, said: “Christmas is always a magical time of year but we are all hoping that with this extra dose of luck it's going to be a real cracker this year.
“One million pounds and a win against Millwall on Boxing Day would certainly make it a Christmas worth celebrating.”
