EuroMillions winner would be richer than Jamie Oliver
Thursday March 10th 2011If just one person were to win this week's EuroMillions lottery jackpot, they would immediately become richer than celebrity chef, Jamie Oliver. The estimated top prize for Friday night’s draw stands at £68million which, according to the Sunday Times Rich List, would place the lucky player above the popular TV cook who has a personal fortune of £65million.
A report by the BBC said if a single winner is produced tomorrow, they would scoop the third largest jackpot in the history of the UK lottery. Last year, jackpots totalling £113million and £84million were claimed by Brits.
EuroMillions lottery tickets cost £2 each and include entry into the UK Millionaire Raffle, which makes one new millionaire each week. Lotto players across eight other European countries - Ireland, Spain, Portugal, France, Luxembourg, Belgium, Austria and Switzerland - take part in the weekly game.
Last night, one British lottery player won a cool £17.8million prize after matching the six main numbers and the bonus ball in the UK Lotto draw. The winner has yet to come forward.
A further seven players matched five main numbers and the bonus ball, scooping themselves just over £200,000 each.
