EuroMillions win creates a new UK record
Monday November 9th 2009Two UK winners have shared the lottery jackpot each scooping a record breaking £45,570,835.50. This EuroMillions win creates a new UK record, beating the previous record of £35.4 million which was won by Post Mistress, Angela Kelly in 2007. All eyes have been on the massive €90 million EuroMillions jackpot for the last week.
As always, a staggering lottery jackpot such as this has created a huge amount of interest in all of the participating European countries. However, most of the interest will now turn to the UK after Camelot, who operate the National Lottery and EuroMillions Lottery within the UK for details of the two UK winners. The winning numbers for the EuroMillions draw this Friday were 11, 19, 34, 43, 45, with lucky stars 5 and 9.
Camelot have reported that both of the EuroMillions winners have come forward to claim their record breaking lottery prize to a celebration of champagne on ice and join the Millionaire Club.
Although this EuroMillions win has created the biggest lottery prize ever won in the UK, it is not the biggest EuroMillions lottery single ticket win. This record lottery win is held by a woman in Spain who scooped a massive €110 million on the EuroMillions Lottery in May of this year.
The EuroMillions jackpot returns to its starting point of €15 million for the next drawing which takes place on Friday. As always, we recommend that you buy lottery tickets online to prevent the risk of losing or mislaying substantial prize winning lottery tickets.
