Euromillions draw could be a record-breaker
Tuesday March 22nd 2011Lottery organisers in the UK are bracing themselves for another mega-draw this coming Friday, after no one won the top prize in the latest Euromillions draw, which reached just over £94million as a result of a late rush to buy lotto tickets.
If one person scoops this Friday’s huge jackpot, they could become the biggest-ever individual UK winner of a lotto draw, beating the previous highest amount scooped by a single winner, of £113million.
And with 14 British winners having previously scooped the top Euromillions prize in the past two years, there is a history of people who buy lotto tickets in the UK banking the top prizes.
Friday saw two UK winners each walk away with more than £233,000 after matching the five main Euromillions numbers plus one of the two lucky stars.
