Changes to Euromillions

Tuesday April 12th 2011

On 7th May 2011 there are some exciting changes to EuroMillions set to come into force. In the meantime, in the run up to these changes coming into place there will also be some temporary changes in how you can buy lottery tickets in advance for the EuroMillions. These temporary changes came into force on 9th April 2011 and will continue for a four week period.

These changes mean that each week during a four week countdown, the number of weeks in which you can buy your EuroMillions tickets in advance will reduce by one week until tickets for the new EuroMillions game go on sale on 7th May.

From Saturday 9th May, lottery players are able to buy EuroMillions tickets up to four weeks in advance. However, the temporary changes mean that from 16th April this is reduced by one week meaning that you can play up to three weeks in advance. A further reduction of one week comes into force on Saturday 23rd April meaning EuroMillions can be played up to two weeks in advance and the final reduction on 30th April will give lottery players just one week to play.

When the changes to the game itself come into force on 7th May, you will again be able to buy lotto tickets for the EuroMillions up to four weeks in advance, so things will be back to normal by the time the game changes take place.

All of the details on the changes to EuroMillions coming into force on 7th May will be available very soon, so keep your eyes open for those.
