BT Syndicate Dials Lottery Win
Monday December 8th 2008A syndicate of workers at a British Telecom call centre matched six main numbers on Wednesday 03 December, 2008 to win a half share of a UK National Lottery jackpot worth £2,187,692. The syndicate, which calls itself the Smooth Operators, has 17 members, giving each member £64,434.
The syndicate has been playing the UK Lotto game on Wednesdays and Saturdays for nine years. That’s a lot of draws, and when the members telephoned syndicate leader Vivienne Allison to tell her they had won more than £1 million, she initially thought they were playing a prank.
This is the latest in a series of recent successes for lottery syndicates. In November 2008, a syndicate of 23 workers at a housing project in Haverhill, Suffolk, won a £2,630,225 jackpot prize. And in the same month a synidcate of 19 Hartlepool Borough Council tradesmen matched five numbers and the bonus ball to win £104,281.
Clearly, belonging to a syndicate can be extremely profitable. If your workplace has a lottery syndicate then it is well worth joining, but even if it doesn’t you could always start a lottery syndicate of your own. When you have done that, be sure to check out our article on Lottery Syndicate Tips and the next big winner could be you!
