5th Canada Lottery win disputed

Thursday October 29th 2009

One Canadian man has had his luck run short after his 5th Canada Lottery win was disputed. Seguro Ndabene had already scooped more than $2 million with four previous lottery wins but on January 16th, 2009 his numbers came in again netting this lucky chap an impressive $17 million on the Canadian Super 7 draw.

Since his win another claimant has stepped forward alleging that the lottery ticket for which the winnings where claimed are actually part of a syndicate and of course, the WCLC has to fully investigate the claim.

The other claimant is the brother in law of the kiosk owner where Ndabene goes to buy lottery tickets for the big prize draws. Surprisingly enough, in an article on CBC, the kiosk owner is reported as saying that she was “excited for Ndabene when she heard about the big win in January even though the group syndicate were not part of it”. Could this simply be a case of someone trying their luck?

This lucky winner has already scooped the following prizes:

  • 2004 he nets a $1 million prize in the Lotto 6/49
  • 2006 another $100,000 playing the Super 7 game
  • 2008 a further two prizes of $1 million and $50,000 playing Lotto 6/49

A further three people who were part of the syndicate have now chosen to consult with lawyers over the disputed $17 million lottery win but reading between the lines, looking at documented evidence, it appears that it is simply a case of people trying to cash in on the luck of Seguro Ndabene. We will have to await the results of the courts findings but if we were gambling people we would be backing Ndabene.
