Wednesday May 29th 2013

Powerball has seen an incredible week of twists and turns. On 18th May 2013 the biggest Powerball jackpot of US$590 million was won by a single Floridian player, whilst just a week later three players shared a jackpot of US$50 million. Both of these extreme events are unusual and just prove that anything can happen when you play the lottery!

The US$590 million winner of the second biggest jackpot in the world has still to come forward despite calls by Floridian lottery officials for all players to check their tickets. As all lottery winners from Florida are required to go public with their win, it could be that the lucky winner is busy getting their affairs in order before they enter the spotlight or it could simply be that the player has not yet checked their ticket.

Meanwhile the draw on Saturday 25th May 2013 was remarkable for a different reason when three ticket holders from three different states shared the jackpot of US$50 million.

In yet another twist the three players who shared the jackpot are from Louisiana, Delaware and, for the second time in a week, Florida! However, with neither Floridian winner having yet claimed their wins, all players are reminded to check their Powerball tickets in case they are sitting on a fortune!
