$148 Million Powerball Jackpot Won in New York
Sunday August 18th 2019A single ticket in New York has won the $148,000,000 jackpot in the the Saturday, August 17 Powerball drawing.
The ticket matched all six numbers to win the top prize. Saturday's winning numbers were white balls 18, 21, 24, 30, and 60, and the red Powerball was 20. The Power Play multiplier was 3X.
The winner will now be able to choose between two options for how to collect the prize: an annuity of the full jackpot amount of $148 million, paid as 30 payments over 29 years, or one lump sum payment of a lower amount. Both options are subject to taxes.
The Powerball jackpot has previously been won three times this year. Most recently, $198 million was won in Tennessee just over a month ago on July 13. Before that, $344.6 million was won in North Carolina on June 1, and the first jackpot win this year was $768.4 million in Wisconsin on March 27.
Saturday's draw produced 1,181,042 winners including the jackpot win in New York. There were three $1 million Match 5 winners in Colorado, Nebraska and Ohio, who matched the five white balls, but not the red Powerball. Think you may be a winner? Check your numbers now to find out.
The Powerball jackpot has now reset to its guaranteed starting value of $40 million (cash amount $25.9 million) for the next draw on Wednesday, August 21.
