Wyoming Lottery Introduces Cowboy Draw

Wednesday January 21st 2015

Hold onto your (cowboy) hats, Wyoming residents - there’s a new game in town and it’s set to pay out some big prizes. The first state-level offering, Cowboy Draw, is set to start on March 15th after lottery officials conducted extensive research into what players would want to see in a new game.

When the Wyoming Lottery launched in August of last year, players could only take part in two national draw games - Mega Millions and Powerball. The move towards in-state games demonstrates a commitment to Wyoming Lottery fans and to the state itself.

Players will pay $5 per Cowboy Draw ticket and will select five numbers from 1 to 45. Each ticket offers two entries into the draw and players must match all five of the numbers drawn if they want to win the jackpot, which starts at a minimum of $250,000. Players who match four numbers will win $1,000, while those who match three will win $20. Any participant who matches two numbers will win a prize of $5.

Wyoming Lottery CEO Jon Clontz emphasized that Cowboy Draw would keep lottery prizes - and lottery revenue - in the state. With a payout of 68 percent, the game will entice countless residents who may have previously shied away from playing Powerball or Mega Millions in light of the massive odds. With fewer people to compete for the top prize, the chances of winning big could be much better in comparison.

Other in-state lottery games are set to start later this year. Keep up with Lottery.net for the latest updates and information on America’s newest state lottery!
