Record breaking EuroMillions win for UK

Monday October 11th 2010

It has been a very exciting weekend in the world of lottery and particularly for European players. We saw the record breaking SuperEnalotto jackpot up for grabs along with a massive rollover jackpot of £113 million for the EuroMillions. However, the most exciting news going into the new week is that as a result, there has been yet another record breaking EuroMillions win for the UK. One lucky ticket holder has scooped the £113 million jackpot, breaking the biggest single lottery win of £84 million which was set back in May.

The Brits tend to fair well in the EuroMillions with all three of the last record breaking wins coming from this lottery game. The identity of the last record breaking win back in May has never been disclosed but before this, the record was set by Gloucestershire couple Nigel Paige and Justine Laycock who scooped £56 million back in February which was also on the EuroMillions.

So far this most recent British EuroMillions winner has not yet come forward, so we are not able to tell you whether this single lottery ticket belongs to one person or a syndicate but we will of course bring you further details as soon as they become available.

If the winning EuroMillions lotto ticket belongs to one person, it will mean that the owner will become the 589th richest person in the UK, meaning that they are wealthier than pop stars such as Rod Stewart and David Bowie, who both have had careers spanning many years in which to make their lesser fortunes.
