Pennsylvania Powerball Winner Pockets $456.7 Million Jackpot
Monday March 19th 2018A Pennsylvania Powerball player became the state’s 18th jackpot winner on Saturday night, pocketing a gigantic $456.7 million. The sum, with a cash value of $273.9 million is the ninth largest in the game’s history and the biggest sum ever snared by a Pennsylvanian.
Powerball Numbers
The winning Powerball numbers for Saturday March 17th were 22, 57, 59, 60 and 66 with Powerball 7. The jackpot sum had accumulated over a run of 19 rollovers since a New Hampshire woman secured a $559.7 million success on Saturday January 6th. That winner was allowed to remain anonymous by a court ruling last week, despite her having signed her own name on the back of her ticket.
As well as the jackpot win, there were three Match 5 winners, from California, Missouri and Texas. The Missouri winner is due the fixed $1 million prize, whilst the player from California picks up $1.2 million, as local laws dictate that prizes in the Golden State must be calculated using data from sales and the number of other winners in the same tier. The Texan will receive $2 million after opting in to the Power Play multiplier when they bought their ticket.

Pennsylvania Winner
The identity of the Pennsylvania Powerball winner is not yet known and the state lottery hasn’t released details of the shop in which the winning ticket was bought. However, it is fitting that a state with a good deal of Irish heritage should celebrate a huge win on St Patrick’s Day.
Philadelphia boasts one of the biggest Irish-American populations in the country and hosts a massive annual parade in honor of the patron saint. Similarly, the streets of Pittsburgh and Scranton were crammed with revellers in green over the weekend and, as the party began to wind down, someone in the Keystone State became rich beyond their wildest dreams.
The winner has a year from the date of the drawing to recover from their hangover and make contact with lottery officials.
