Norfolk man bags $10m Win for Life Spectacular prize
Thursday December 9th 2010A 41-year-old from Norfolk, St Lawrence County, has had his life transformed after winning $10million on an instant New York Lottery scratchcard game. Floyd Harvey, a field technician with communications firm Verizon, walked into his local convenience store and bought three scratchcard games, two of which were winners. The first netted him a $35 prize, while the second turned out to be worth considerably more.
He said. “I knew right away I had one dud and two winners. I had to put the cat in the house, so I put the game down and took care of that first. I got back in the truck and realised [the prize] was a lot more than the $100 I was hoping for.”
Mr Harvey’s decision to buy lottery tickets had in fact resulted in him winning a whopping $10million jackpot prize, which guarantees him annual net payments of $343,356 for the next 19 years, followed by further payouts for the rest of his life.
Speaking to lottery organisers, Mr Harvey said he already has the house of his dreams but intends to spend a few dollars doing up his ’67 Mustang and buying a Mustang Shelby to park next to it.
