Scarnici, a lottery fan in his 70s, purchased three Quick Pick Powerball Tickets for the drawing on August 7th at a Stop and Shop on Summerfield Boulevard, South Brunswick, one of which landed him with a share of the $448 million jackpot. Sarnini was one of three ticket holders who matched the winning Powerball numbers from the draw, which was the second biggest in Powerball history. The other two winning tickets were claimed by a Minnesota resident Paul White and a group of 16 co-workers from Ocean County, New Jersey. To read more about these Powerball winners, click here.

Scarinci did not want to hold a press conference or speak publicly about his win but told lottery officials that he will share his winnings with his two sons. He opted for the cash payout which sees him win nearly $62 million after taxes.

The Stop and Shop received a $30,000 check for selling the winning ticket and plans to donate $5,000 to the Make-a-Wish foundation and $5,000 to an autism organization in the South Brunswick area.

Congratulations to the Scarnici family on this Powerball win from the team here at Lottery.net – we hope you enjoy it!
