National Lottery winners in a double celebration
Thursday September 16th 2010Winning a lottery jackpot is something most of us only ever dream of but last week saw National Lottery winners in a double celebration as not only had they scooped a £2.6 million jackpot, but they were also celebrating their Ruby Wedding Anniversary. Phillip and Sandra Sawyer from Birmingham have regularly been taking part in a family syndicate of four people and had been celebrating their Wedding Anniversary when their numbers came up on the National Lottery. Phillip checked the lottery numbers the following morning and discovered the win while his wife had a lie in.
Many people would have shouted the house down on such a discovery, but Phillip followed his usual routine while his wife slept, unaware that they had just won the National Lottery. When he did eventually wake Sandra he made her check the lottery numbers herself as she thought it was a practical joke.
The couple will share the National lottery win with two other syndicate members who are their daughters. Phillip and Sandra plan to move out of their council home and buy their own house as do both of their daughters.
Aside from a holiday and a new BMW car, the couple have little other plans for their National Lottery fortune. Their two daughters plan to stay in their jobs to prevent them from getting bored, so it seems that this is one family who despite winning this huge National Lottery jackpot will continue to live the life that they have enjoyed for many years and maybe the syndicate will continue to buy lotto tickets for the National Lottery.
