Monopoly Millionaire’s Club Rolls out Across U.S.
Wednesday October 15th 2014An exciting new interstate game is coming to America as 23 state lotteries gear up for the premiere of Monopoly Millionaires' Club later this month. Inspired by the Canadian game Lotto Max, the new game will cost $5 per ticket and sales are expected to start on October 19th, with the first draw taking place on October 24.
While Powerball and Mega Millions often offer nine-figure jackpots, the goal of Monopoly Millionaires' Club is to create a larger number of lottery winners. The jackpot starts at $15 million and, if it rolls over, is capped at $25 million until it is won. A minimum of two $1 million prizes are also awarded to players each draw and the amount of these prizes awarded will increase each time the jackpot rolls over.
To play the game, participants must select five numbers from 1 to 52. An additional number from 1 to 28 that represents a property found on the popular Monopoly game board is randomly generated for the player. To win the jackpot, players must match all five main numbers and the property number.
A TV show with the same name is set to launch in February as a companion to the lottery game. Guests will be selected from players who have bought Monopoly Millionaires' Club tickets and registered them online or by using a smartphone app. They will then get to play Monopoly-style games for the chance to win cash or other great prizes.
More information on Monopoly Millionaires' Club will be posted on Lottery.net as it is made available. Stay tuned - and don’t forget to pick up a ticket on Sunday from an authorized retailer in your state!
