Thursday October 8th 2020

Dan Dampf has played the same 10 numbers in the Missouri Lottery's Show Me Cash game since it launched 12 years ago. His loyalty finally paid off after the lucky numbers won him the $50,000 jackpot recently.

Dampf's persistence in sticking with his favorite numbers since 2008 proved to be a good thing when his winning digits 2, 21, 27, 33 and 39 were drawn on September 8.

"It finally hit, so I was really excited," he said. "I was blessed that I finally won." He picked up the lucky ticket from Break Time, 1200 Missouri Blvd. in Jefferson City, his go-to retailer for lottery purchases.

The Jefferson City resident plays several Missouri Lottery games, and this isn't the first time he's claimed a big prize. "Two years ago I was playing Pick 4, and I won $19,000, which was my biggest win ever," Dampf said. "So [now], this was the biggest win I've ever had."

Asked what his plans are for the winnings, Dampf said he will pay bills and get some woodworking tools. "It's a new hobby I picked, so I'll have something to do when I get closer to retirement," he explained.

Show Me Cash offers Missouri players daily chances to win, with the draw held every evening at 8:59 pm. The popular game features a $50,000 starting jackpot that continues rolling over and growing until it's won.

$5 Million Scratchers Win for Missouri Ticket

Another Show Me State ticket also had an incredible win recently. The top prize in the Missouri Lottery's $5,000,000 Cash Extravaganza game was hit by a Florida player on October 6. The lucky winner is Manuel Montori, who purchased the ticket at Breaktime, 900 Conley Road in Columbia. The win marked the MO Lottery's 150th scratcher ticket worth $1 million or above.
