Mega Millions Jackpot Rolls To US$79 Million
Wednesday July 3rd 2013The Mega Millions jackpot rolled over for the ninth time last night giving players the chance to win a US$79 million jackpot in Friday’s draw. Although there were no jackpot winners in the first Mega Millions draw of July 2013 there were still 423,790 players who did win prizes.
The numbers drawn last night were 36, 42, 51, 52 and 53 with the Mega Ball 40. Four tickets, purchased in New Jersey (1), New York (2) and Oklahoma (1), matched the five main numbers to each win the second tier prize of US$250,000 while a further 23 players matched four numbers plus the Mega Ball to win US$10,000. 1,052 players each won US$150 by matching four numbers.
In other Mega Millions news, there are currently two huge Mega Millions jackpots which remain unclaimed. The US$30 million jackpot from the draw on May 31st was won by a ticket purchased at the Vineland Truck Stop in Buena, New Jersey and Lottery officials, eager to unite the player with their huge Mega Millions jackpot win, held a press conference at the Truck Stop on June 11th to create interest and encourage the winner to come forward. Meanwhile the massive US$198 million jackpot from the draw on May 17th was won by two tickets. Joe Garofalo from New Jersey has claimed this share of the huge jackpot but there is still no sign of the other winning ticket holder who purchased the ticket in Farmville, Virginia.
