Mega Millions Climbs to 11th-Largest Jackpot
Monday June 8th 2020The Mega Millions jackpot has soared to an awesome $410 million ($308.2 million cash option) for the next draw on Tuesday, June 9 - the game's 11th highest-ever top prize.
This is only the eighth time the jackpot has broken past $400 million in the last six years, and the first time it's happened in over a year, after no ticket matched all six numbers drawn on Friday, June 5 - white balls 32, 35, 37, 47 and 55, and the gold Mega Ball 22.
There were three big winners on Friday as players in Connecticut, Florida, and New Jersey hit the $1 million Match 5 second prize by matching all five white ball numbers.
21 players enjoyed the $10,000 third prize by matching four of the white balls and the Mega Ball. In fact, six of those tickets are actually worth $30,000 each after the players added the Megaplier option to their ticket for an extra $1. The Megaplier number drawn on Friday was 3X, tripling non-jackpot prizes for those who added it.
The Mega Millions jackpot has been hit just once so far in 2020 - it's been growing since it was last won on February 11, when a ticket sold in New Jersey matched all six numbers to score $202 million.
Since then, 16.5 million winners have taken home non-jackpot prizes, including 33 worth $1 million or above. Are you one of the lucky winners? Head over to the Mega Millions number checker and find out.
