However, Palmetto State players can look forward to new games and enhancements that will be rolled out over the next few months.

"The South Carolina Education Lottery is leaving the multi-state Lucky for Life game to explore exciting new game opportunities for players that will launch over the next several months," the Lottery said. "These new games will also enhance funding for education."

The Lottery announced that a new Fireball add-on for Pick 3 and Pick 4 will launch on May 3, and there will be news on Powerball upgrades in late summer.

Following the the Lucky for Life draw on Thursday, April 22, the number of multi-draws for advance purchase will be reduced from 20 to 19, and will continue reducing by one after each draw.

Lucky for Life prizes may be claimed within 180 days from the draw date. After all prizes on the game have been paid out, any monies left will be used by the state for education funding.

Rock Hill Man Wins $25,000 a Year on Lucky for Life

The latest South Carolina player to win big on Lucky for Life is a Rock Hill resident who hit the game's second prize of $25,000 every year for life.

The player, who wanted to remain anonymous, chose his own numbers for the winning ticket he purchased from York Mart at 597 South Anderson Rd. in Rock Hill for the March 22 draw. He matched the five main numbers, only missing out on the Lucky Ball.

"I couldn’t believe it," the winner told lottery officials. "This is nice." He opted for the lump sum single cash payment of $390,000 rather than the yearly annuity, and says his prize will "come in handy."
