Lucky Couple Claim Three Large Lottery Prizes in under a Month!

Wednesday April 2nd 2014

Three is certainly the charm for Calvin and Zatera Spencer as the lucky Virginian couple claimed a trio of lottery prizes last month, worth more than $2 million in total. The pair defied incomprehensible odds to earn $2.05 million from three separate lottery games, in the space of just three weeks!

Their enviable winning streak began on March 12 when the couple became the only players in the nation to take home a $1 million prize from the midweek Powerball draw. Their winning ticket, a Quick Pick purchased from Barber Tire & Auto on Portsmouth Boulevard, matched all five main numbers and fell just one number short of securing the $60 million jackpot prize.

Despite the close call, the Spencer’s were happy with their win; “It feels fantastic. It feels like a blessing” said Calvin, who had no idea he would soon be adding to the big win.

Just two weeks later Calvin purchased ten tickets into the Virginia Pick 4 daily game, all with the eerie combination of 6-6-6-6. Miraculously, his spooky sequence matched the winning numbers drawn on March 26 and Calvin collected ten jackpot prizes worth $5,000 each.

However, the Spencer’s winning streak didn’t stop there and the very next day Calvin thought he’d try his hand at a scratch off – the $100 Million Cash Extravaganza. “Baby, we did it again!” Calvin called his wife immediately – they’d just won another $1 million prize.

Perhaps some people really are born lucky – Virginia Lottery Spokesman John Hagerty said; “I haven’t seen anything like it in my 12 years here. People in the office couldn’t believe it was them when they showed up with the winning ticket.”

While it seems unlikely that Hagerty will see anything like it again, the Spencer’s aren’t ruling out yet another win; “We’re not finished yet” said Calvin, collecting his third check. Perhaps lottery officials should prepare themselves for another visit from the world’s most fortunate couple.
