Lincolnshire Lotto Jackpot
Monday January 19th 2009A couple of UK National Lottery players from Lincolnshire won a share of a £3.5 million jackpot on Saturday 20 December, 2008 thanks to a winning Lucky Dip ticket. Pat and Norman Rowett, who have two children and four grandchildren, held one of ten winning tickets, scooping £350,384.
The couple play the Lotto game every week, but because of the Christmas holidays they didn’t get around to checking the lottery results. Their daughter in law finally checked their ticket after the New Year and discovered their win.
“I really can’t explain how fantastic it is to win,” Pat said. “We bought our Lucky Dip ticket at our local store, as we do every week, but with the festive season in full swing, we didn’t check our ticket until after the New Year. When my daughter in law checked our ticket at the store, we couldn’t believe our luck when she returned and said we had matched all six numbers.”
The Rowetts quickly went online to double check their numbers and were delighted to see that their daughter in law had been right all along. However, they still couldn’t quite believe their luck until the win was confirmed by the National Lottery organisers.
The couple are now looking to buy a brand new 4 x 4 before enjoying a well deserved holiday and treating their children and grandchildren.
