Lotteries across the country are changing the way they operate due to the coronavirus, including closing claim centers and extending prize expiration deadlines.

All lottery drawings, including Mega Millions and Powerball, continue to be held on schedule.

If you're concerned about leaving home, you can play online. Your ticket will be safely stored in your account and any prizes you win will be paid automatically.

Coronavirus state lottery updates

Below is today's list of the latest COVID-19 lottery changes nationwide.

California

Lottery headquarters in Sacramento and all district offices are closed following Gov. Newsom's shelter-in-place order. Drawings will take place as scheduled, but it is not possible to view them in person. Winners may redeem prizes by mail.

Connecticut

Public access to the the lottery's Rocky Hill headquarters is restricted to winners of $50,000 and above who have made an appointment. Call 860-713-2679 to schedule a booking.

All prizes under $50,000 may be redeemed by mail. Winning tickets up to $5,000 may also be cashed at high-tier claim centers. Call the center directly to verify their hours. Currently, Sully's Mobil in New London is not processing claims on weekends, and Crossroads Card & Gift in Norwalk is closed through April 6.

The lottery has extended the prize claim deadline for tickets that would have expired from March 16 to April 14.

District of Columbia

The DC Lottery Store in Union Station, located at 50 Massachusetts Ave NE, closed on March 25. The prize center on Shannon Place is not accepting walk-ins, but appointments to claim wins over $5,000 and second chance prizes are available by calling 202-645-8000.

Georgia

All claim centers are closed through March 31. The lottery has extended the claim period for all tickets set to expire from March 18 until claim centers reopen. Prizes may also be redeemed by mail.

Kentucky

The Lexington claim center is closed, and the Louisville headquarters is only accepting claims by appointment for prizes over $5,000. To make a booking, call 800-937-8946 during business hours and select option 3. Prizes up to $50,000 may also be claimed by mail.

Louisiana

With all offices closed until April 13, the lottery has extended claim deadlines by 90 days. Normally, prizes must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing, or the end-of-game date for scratch-offs. Tickets worth less than $600 may also be mailed in.

Maryland

The lottery's Baltimore office is processing in-person claims weekly from 8:30am-4:30 pm on Monday and 10am-3pm Tuesday through Friday. Claims may also be mailed in.

Ohio

The lottery has extended the deadline to claim a prize. All prizes will be paid provided that winners claim in person or by mail within 30 days of the governor lifting the state of emergency order.

Oregon

The lottery's Salem and Wilsonville offices are closed. Tickets worth up to $50,000 should be claimed by mail. If you've won more than $50,000, please call 503-540-1000 to arrange a time to make an in-person claim in Salem.

Washington State

All lottery offices and mall and airport kiosks are closed until at least April 8. The Olympia headquarters is closed to the public, but can receive calls and mail. If you've won over $100,000, call the lottery to arrange a safe in-person claim in Olympia. For more details, please visit the link below.

Wisconsin

The Madison office at 2135 Rimrock Rd. is closed to walk-ins. To make an appointment to claim, call 608-261-4916. Office hours are 10am-2:30pm Monday through Friday.

The Milwaukee office is currently closed.
