Did you buy a Mega Millions ticket on June 26, 2018 in Fort Washington, Maryland? Then you may be the lucky winner of $1 million! The winning ticket was bought at the Tantallon Exxon on Indian Head Highway in Fort Washington on the day of the draw.

The winning numbers in the June 26 drawing were 17, 25, 29, 39 and 60. The Mega Ball was 19.

Lottery winners in Maryland have 182 days from the date of the draw to claim their prize. The winning ticket was sold for the June 26 drawing, so the winner has until December 24, 2018 to claim. The winner has not yet come forward and the Maryland Lottery is searching for the individual before the prize expires.

The ticket actually expires on Christmas Day, but because this is a state holiday, the winner must claim by 4:15 PM on Monday, December 24.

If you are the winner, here’s what you should do right now: sign the back of the ticket, make a copy of the front and back, and put the ticket in a safe place.

The next step is to claim your prize at the Maryland Lottery Customer Resource Center, which is located at 1800 Washington Boulevard in Baltimore. You will need to bring the winning ticket.

You’ll also need to bring photo identification proving you are at least 18 years old. A valid driver’s license, military ID, government-issued ID, or passport are all acceptable.

Additionally, you will need proof of your Social Security Number / Tax ID. You may use your Social Security Card, health insurance card with your name and SSN, W-2 form or pay stub from your employer, or a 1099 form from a bank.

Your name on your photo ID and Social Security document must match exactly, so be sure to double-check them.

You may be wondering if the winner has to pay taxes on their winnings – and as you might expect, the answer is yes. The Maryland Lottery states that for prizes above $5,000, federal taxes of 24% plus an 8.75% State tax for MD residents or a 7.5% State tax for non-Maryland residents will be withheld. Lottery winnings must also be reported on your income tax return.

It’s been a good year for Mega Millions winners in Maryland – this is the third $1 million winning ticket sold in the state this year. Prior to this year, there was one $1 million Mega Millions winner in the state in 2017 and four in 2016.
