$754 Million Powerball Jackpot Won in Washington
Tuesday February 7th 2023Monday night’s Powerball drawing created history in Washington with the state’s biggest-ever win. The wait is now on for the lucky player to claim their $754.6 million jackpot.
The grand prize for February 6 had initially been estimated at $747 million, but the final figure was higher after a late surge for tickets across the participating states and jurisdictions.
It ended up as the fifth-highest Powerball jackpot, and the ninth-biggest U.S. lottery jackpot in history.
A single ticket matched all the numbers - the white balls were 5, 11, 22, 23 and 69, and the red Powerball was 7. Go to the Prize Payouts page to see a full breakdown of all the other winnings from the draw.
Washington Winner
It was not immediately disclosed after the draw where in Washington the winning ticket was sold, but it is a record-breaking payout for the state.
There had only previously been one Washington winner in Powerball - a $90 million jackpot that went to Lisa Quam from Auburn in November 2014.
Washington has enjoyed more success in Mega Millions, with five jackpot wins, but there had been nothing higher than the $177 million that was claimed by Jim and Carolyn McCullar from Ephrata in 2011.
The latest winner has a deadline of 180 days from the draw date to claim their money, giving them until August 5 to come forward.
One of the biggest decisions they face is whether to take the $754 million as an annuity, or the cash option of $407 million. Both options are subject to federal tax, although there is no state tax on lottery winnings in Washington.
In the meantime, Powerball drawings will continue every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Use the Checker to help you find out if you are a big winner.
