$213 Million Powerball Jackpot Remains Unclaimed

Wednesday October 30th 2013

A week has passed since one ticket, purchased in California, won the Powerball jackpot worth $213 million and there is still no sign of the winner. This was the first Powerball jackpot win for a Californian resident since the state joined the lottery in April 2013 so state lottery officials are eager to locate their first ever Powerball jackpot winner and unite them with their prize.

The winning numbers were 4, 6, 34, 49 and 56 with Powerball 29 for the draw on Wednesday October 23. The lucky ticket was purchased at the Fast ‘N’ Easy store located at 6451 East Shields Avenue in Fresno where the winner selected their own numbers instead of opting for a Quick Pick. The store owner, Vikram Vohre, will receive $1 million for selling the winning jackpot ticket.

Although this is the first Californian Powerball jackpot win, the state is no stranger to big jackpot wins. The state’s largest lottery jackpot win to date is $315 million and was won in the Mega Millions draw on October 19 2005 by a syndicate from Anaheim. Jacki Wells Cisneros holds second place in the California jackpot wins table after winning a Mega Millions jackpot worth $266 million in May 2010. Cisneros, who was working as newswoman for NBC-LA at the time of the win, only found out she had won the jackpot when a colleague gave her a copy of the news report they were running which stated that the winning $266 million Mega Millions ticket was purchased in her hometown of Pico Rivera.

Lottery.net will bring you the latest news regarding California’s first Powerball jackpot winner once the prize has been claimed.
